fate

Fate has been occupying a humongous amount of my time these past few days. It's a dungeon crawl similar to D2, recently released by Wild Tangent ... Highly addictive, but repetitive. The only reason y im writing this now, is cos im locked in TK's room, and he took his mouse with him (under my orders) to prevent me from playing...

So whats troubling me now is whether i should give up my econ degree. At this point, i've barely started my pursuit of econs, and im finding that the part of econs that interests me most is the math portions. And then the results that you get from considering the model that you set up. In a sense, its the applied math portions that are so nice... Well, econs is basically applied math. Hmz, oh well, decided that i shall just do the rest of the econs courses. Interestingly enough, the courses i want to do are all labelled mathemathical economics. Game Theory, Theory of Auctions, Econometrics, etc... Am actually 'forced' to do econs, so that i can graduate with a math with speciliazation in econs. And the prog is set up such that, i naturally get an econs degree at the same time. Oh well. (So that settles the qn. I'd most prob be going off to do grad sch in maths. Parents, fyi, would be spending 4 yrs in chicago, pls find funding)

Once again, dreadful course selection is upcoming. I find myself in the same quandary as before. Should i audit more courses??? Its like, there are SO many courses that i want to take (and these are just in math), and need to take.

Current planned aut schedule is Social Science - Mind, Honors Algebra, Econs 203, Stat 244 (of which i expect little problems from the last 2). Then i need to take a physical education course. And i need to take Phys 141 so that i could convince stuart to let me take phys 142 in winter. And then theres discrete mathematics, of which im thinking of auditing the graduate course (looked at the course material, know at least 25% of the stuff there already). Its so tempting to take that grad course as my 5th course. But, im taking PE already, just so that i can get it out of the way.

And then im wondering if i should be a reader of elementary number theory. Was telling paul sally that i was considering auditting that course, then hes like, 'nah, its too easy for you.' Well, quite true, i understand almost everything the course description gives, its only a matter of how indept my understanding is. Never really did like/understand NT during my imo stint, so i feel like i should give it another chance. (loved geom in JC, grasped slight insight in combi during army, but NT has always been that unknown weird object that only ernie can do) So since its not worth my time auditing the course, the alternative to that is to be a TA, and then i'd pick it up too.
