run, work, study
just went for a short run, felt so invigoriating. Never thought i would say this, but i should consider running more often. Theres something to be said about pumping endorphines into my brain. Math just aiant doing that much nowadays lol. No lah, getting fat. FAT. FAT. FAT. shall do my best not to go over 200 pounds (when in US of A, count as badly as them)
Only problem is getting it into a schedule, making myself run ... argh, im such a lazy ass when it comes to exercise (as my bunk mates know so well). sigh, lets see how it goes...
Slight trouble appearing at work, hence the previous post. Not something i wanna blog abt though. Hopefully it clears up soon and fast. Else, oh well, bye bye job. Na de qi, fang de xia. Which ironically, is just the advice i need for another matter, but im just not taking it. lol.
had my first DRP meeting on friday with a cool grad student (oh well, most of them are cool, and im a sucker for pple who have passion) hes very interested in geometry, think he was involved in maths competitions previously too, cos he knows a bit of competition problems. His favourite geometry theorem is Feurbach's theorem about the 9 point circle being tangential to the incricle and excircles. Then i told him that the 9-point circle is invariant no matter which 3 of the 4 orthogonal points (aka A, B, C, H) that you take, hence you can generate a total of 16 circles thats tangential to the 9-point circle. All thanks to that Hua Luo Keng series that i have had been reading, but is rotting at home right now. And of course, i showed him my favourite homothety qn (which is foldly known as hippopotamus, hence name of this blogsite)
We finally decided to go polytopes or something like that. has to deal with 'regular polygons' in the n-th dimension, and invariant mappings LOL. WTF, i cant even properly visualize the 4th dimension. Well, we have a small budget, hence we can get a cool book of drawings of mind-boggling diagrams. Some of them look so complicated and interesting. This is going to take another 4-5 hrs per week of my precious time.
Sleep is increasingly becoming an overated commodity. Econ 200 analysis tells me that i would consume sleep up to the point where its marginal utility is the same as the rest. Given that marginal utility of all other goods increase, consumption of sleep will decrease. One day, id perfect the art of being a zombie. But until then, ...
Well, had such a wonderful discussion, that din notice time dragged and was late for dinner with frens. they squeezed 5(!) people in the back of a car, and andrew drove us down to grand lux for a SINFUL $40 dinner (inclusive of dinner treat of b-dae girl) which lead to me running today and i can redirect you to the start of this blog.
If u escaped that vicious cycle above, have a nice day!.
