I love my life :)
oh yea, luv my life here in chicago ... this place is fantastic... had a superub day today!
started off with a Young Scholars Programme, which basically pays me some $$ to do less work than i do at NUS ... lol ... but its interesting that they can run a programme of college level mathematics (we covered group theory today) for sec4-j2 kids, and still have such good attendence (30) in a population thats the same size as Singapore... Made me think whether such a programme would take off in Singapore, given out my higher average ability. But of course, simo commitments might clash, but if it was a general interest course ...
came back to my house, was too late to join them for dodgeball (which they were champions YEA) had a good lunch. I haven had breakfast ever since i was in UoC. Too lazy to go for a slice of US$8 bread...
came back, started work on my Humanities paper, which was a pain in the ass (thankfully im done) but spent the past 10 hours on it ... took a nap, detours ... Today is parents weekend, so some of us went to ka-poh food from the reception provided :) Over there, met my resident master, Josh, who told me that apparantly my Resident Assistant, Tyler, was talking to some 50-yr oldd guy who takes classes at UoC (for fun) and told him abt this 'maths genius from Singapore' .. one thing led to another and now Josh is hanging onto a book for me from this guy. OMG where on earth can such a thing happen (apart from singapore where i ask the profs that is LOL, which was what i did, wanted an ancient book - survey of modern algebra)
World series for baseball was today, Chicago White Sox against Houston ???, so out longue was converted, furniture moved abt, and had a projected screened against the wall, so had a great view of the game, in the comfort of out longue, with a steady snack bar. Thanks Steve for macroni and cheese, and my Resident Heads for organising this and providing so much. White Sox won btw, 5-3 and they were letting off fireworks at the stadium (in chicago)
Today is such a great day! Would really love to have more of such days :) Chicago rocks (would be even better if isn't that cold)
