C'est La Vie
Why is it that moments of such clarity only occur during periods of madness?
What do you do when you realize that you have your pirorities all wrong? That your life needs a reordering of some sorts. Of course, this happens on a daily basis, in minute detail, as your perspectives change to redefine who you are.
Take TK for example. The first-year TK would gasp in indescrible horror at the state of the third-year TK. Imagine. Taking just 3 courses. Oh man, hes such a slacker, not making full use of this money's worth. I forgot who it was that calculated that we were paying $100 per hour, and this is not in addition to food and lodging.
How far then, do your actions reflect your perspectives? In fact, while we are at it, what are your true opinions? All so often, it is easy (well, for me) to talk in praise of one 'virtue', while not agreeing with what it represents.
Kenneth laments Plato's Republic for being so autocratic in ruling the infomation (art, poetry, music, myths) available to his utopian city. I'm like, well, its a utopia that hes creating. Ultimately its the greater good for everyone (or is it?). So what if information has to be restricted, to promote the virtue that he wants to cultivate in the city? After all, art and stories are just selected fantasies that we chose to propagate.
And so right now I'm sounding like a certain political organization, which led me to think, why on Earth did they ban South Park several years ago? I did quite a bit of South Park watching in the past few days, and still fail to see why it has to be banned. I mean, I would agree if you say its not material that a opinionable child should watch. But, to restrict it from the masses?
Edit: So I think I'm still mad. I had this insane dream, which was sortof so real. And for all that I joke about being in a gang, this time round I really was in one. And then came up issues of brotherhood, friendship, what that means, etc. And the best/worst part of it was that, mr Lung Wen Zheng was the opposite gang's boss. I was like, wtf, how on earth did he end up there...
