Productivity

Hmz, its interesting the number of people that complain about their productivity (or lack thereof) I know i'm one of them too :) Just been screwing around reading several people's blogs, and more often than not, the idea of not doing enough comes up in one of their posts. And some of these people are busy 25/7 (not a typo), they clearly do achieve alot of things. Y then do we still complain abt productivity?

First, well, lets face it, theres always more things that we want to do. Theres always this project, that thingy, those items, not to mention these stuff ... and im not even talking about homework. There is just way too much stuff to do, and way too little time. After you clear your highest pirorties, the there aiant much more time to do the rest...

Second, we do not realize that our leisure time is just that. LEISURE. Its not time that could be spent working. Its time that you need to unwind, so that you can do work later. Granted, some people seem to have no need for leisure (me? ha, if only) but for the rest of us ... i stand by 8 hrs of sleep a day, have been more or less faithfully getting it (if i include my afternoon naps)

Third, there are just times when productivity is low. The essay u want to write just isnt forming, the problem set is really devious and tricky, the words u're reading just isn't getting through to you, the symbols on the paper seem to move all about the place, but not to the correct positions. And thats what we unforgiving mortals remember; not the time when we completed the problem set in 1 hr, or read thru the whole of WoN in 1 sitting ...

Fourth, If you compare to others, it aiant really fair. I have read some CV's in which superman rushes around to save the world. conclusion: some of it is fluff. Granted, most of it is true, but still, there is some exaggeration around. Morale? Dun compare too much. Besides, u're not seeing the ugly side.

But then again, having said thus, am i satisfied with my productivity? Nope. What have i done for the past 4 hrs? Read blogs, check email several times, play freecell, chat on MSN, get asked to solve maths probs but dun do so, write own blog. Yea, such a highly productive 4 hrs (stab self with fork) Hei, its suicide prevention day already, give me a break!

Let it be, there will be an answer, let it be.
