2nd day of pre-orientation for international students. More or less adjusting already to things here ... but theres still the whole idea of studying to get over. The way they describe it, seems like they do alot of studying ... which is bad, cos i dun really want to start studying yet ... worried about doing humanities and social sciences together, since they are essay intensive papers, which i dun really have an affinity for.
Am not able to get internet access from the 5th floor, have to travel down to use the net, which is troublesome for me, since i wake up at 4am and cant do anything LOL ... but honestly, shd start looking at my placement tests notes ... been so long since i touched physics and integration, wondering if i can smoke my way through ... The above is easily completed using the integration table. An education in the University of Chicago should be concerned about being able to apply known knowledge, and not the mundane memorization of useless facts ... Lets see if they are taken in.
Went to borders, in which some pple did a 'poetry recital' for us, which was actually a japalang mix. This guy did an interesting impromptu rap, have a 3 min vid (thats the limit on my cam) of him, but have to figure out how to post it on this blog ... when i do figure out (if anyone is kind enough) i will post it up, so check back again.
Went to target after that, which is like GIANT. Got a large sized whiteboard, which to me means a great deal, cos in my SIMO training, i got used to using a whiteboard :) been trying to look out for it in Singapore, very glad that i got it here instead. Shall post a pic of it up soon, see how happy i am to get it? Got a whole host of other things too ... shall have to think in terms of US dollars, and X1.7 anymore
Got bloddy stupid National Service Callup yesterday, make me worried over nothing. Luckily it said training cancelled LOL ... but the stupid thing was that, when i applied for an exit permit, all they gave me was an approval to apply for an exit permit, so now i have to apply for an actual exit permit. How dumb can they get? Esp considering that im already overseas.
Its been a long day, an im tired ... i wish so much that i could be typing this on my bed ... oh well, saturday will be here soon... shall go off to sleep soon. Tomorrow would be another long day.
