LIES LIES LIES
sianz, just got back from beauty world. tired out liao. woke at 0830, din want to got for class ... which was from 0930-1130, then lunch with johnathan till 1230, went to library to work till 1445, went back to BJ to sleep till 1600, then went off to work from 1430-1900, went for beauty world till 2300, then got back and no strength to open my complex variables textbook... Haha, think my class is one of the few where the students experience burnout in the 2nd week. Know another (weaker lol) guy thats in hon anal thats dropping complex variables. MUST ... STRIVE ... ON ... For what, i have no idea. Interesting thing is that i dunno who in that class are just auditing, and who is competition...
yea, too many lies are being spread around campus ... I have been told that theres this Malaysian girl that din take game theory class because she saw me sitting in ... Ha, and to think i was just auditing that class ... Oh well, its their loss, i have no idea what they are so worked up about. Lets face it, there will always be other stronger pple around, and 1 person aian't going to make much of a difference. Hmz, yea, actually i wonder what all that big fuss is about. Guess i should stop talking so much in my econ class eh.
And like in maths, im not the one to watch out for. Just open your eyes wider and perhaps you can see past my huge frame. There are several more out there who im sure would make their mark. These pple have had a headstart, know their stuff well, and can communicate it properly, whereas im stuck here trying to attend calculus classes in order to make up my gap in education. It would be a bit sad to use me as a yardstick, to compare your performance to mine, to justify yr inability to do a qn by my inability, and to be insecure when u can't solve one that i can. Math, weirdly, is about copying. How well can you be a copy cat? How well can you take an example and extend it? Take 1 flip 3 (chinese), and even better, how to create that 1... I find that the rewarding moments are when you can create that 1, and then use that one to flip 3, and lastly flipping burgers for the rest of your life.
Would be done with hon calc by the end of this quarter, and its already starting to get boring. which is good in a certain sense, cos that means that i know the material already, but might mean that i would miss out on the crucial elegant details, which are more important. Am actually quite glad that i went into hon anal, despite not being completely prepared for it. Haha, it was interesting how much of what i read before coming over to uoc, and only what i read, was used for the placement test ... and of course, my slight crapping skill. Once i survive this quarter, there would be no course that would be too difficult to surmount (haha, thats what i think every quarter, and am being proven wrong over and over) But thats the spirit to keep up as motivation to fight on. GAN BATTE. To fight and strive.
Have new found admiration for those that do 5 courses. Of course, it depends on which 5 courses they take. Luckily i din decide to add on hume to my list of subjects, would have just dieded under the work pile. But of course, i can imagine 5 nice courses to take which would be relatively easy to sail through ... now not only must courses be planned according to the quarter, they must also balance out the workload. No one said uni will be easy. I guess ?? was right, the amount of work you do in uni depends only on yourself, and what you do to yourself...
Already have 2 maths books to read, real analysis and complex analysis, going to be adding on a third one Linear Algebra Done Right. How on earth am i supposed to survive this? TK may think that im mad, but theres this other guy thats taking classes from 9-3 on TTh, and is reading several math books on top of that. Yea, i know what i said about comparing, am just stating an example here. Just to echo his thoughts 'I thought that coming here meant i would be getting a more well-rounded education. Guess i thought wrong.' Not that im complaining, dun have much to compain about, guess im just verging on burnout ... Need a treat sometime soon ...
I would be so glad when beauty world is finally over ... that would free up quite a bit of time and scheduling worries. This sunday is a break, yea! Not that im putting in a load of effort, as i have no lines to memorize, no moves to dance to. Am so glad the enviroment here is so supportive, and, at the end of the day, i have some frens to clown and fool around with.
And i still have tax files to form, due next sat. Shiite.
oooh, i love this song, Amarantine from Enya, released end last year
